Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy encompasses the empowering of students and helping them to develop grit. To teach students as a whole is to empower them because it is in this way that they learn who they are. When students know who they are, they develop confidence and feel empowered by the education that they are receiving. This all begins in developing a positive classroom environment.
Creating a classroom environment in which students are building themselves up entails respecting one another and respecting themselves. This all integrates servant leadership and showing authentic kindness and support to my students. It is through this that a community is built up within the classroom and students begin to lookout for each other. They develop grit. With grit the students persevere and are not afraid to fail or ask questions.
